There’s no better way to photograph Prague than from up above. With its fairytale red roofs and its many towers, it makes sense to head to one of these viewpoints for the best shots of the city.

If you want a photo of the Old Town, you’ll want to head for the Hall Tower. In winter, this spot gives you the best view of the Christmas market, and at night, you can catch the beautiful lights of the square and the Tyn church across the square. Space is tight inside the tower, and it gets very crowded around sunset, so keep that in mind if you want space.

A historical fort right over the river, Vy?ehrad offers great views of both the water and the city. You’ll easily find the best spot just by walking around – it’s right next to a metal map that identifies some of the buildings you see in the distance.

Letna Park is the best spot to catch a view of several of Prague’s bridges in one shot. Head to the park’s Hanavsky pavilion for an open view directly over the Vltava River, or walk around to catch additional sights from different angles.

Pet?ín Hill

Natural Feature
Pet?ín Hill offers several chances for great photography. To reach the top, you can take a funicular car (sit on the left of the car for the best views) and take photos as you go up. Once at the top, there are several great viewpoints. Or you can climb to the top of the Pet?ín Observation Tower for an even higher view of the city.
